Personal and Educational Background

Jason Mulholland was born and raised in Pennsylvania, before transplanting to Florida.  Instead of going directly to college, Jason enlisted in the U.S. Navy.  Focusing on his military career, Jason was selected for Naval Justice School within 2 years, after which he converted to Legalman.  No stranger to hard work, Jason worked full-time on active duty as a Legalman, while simultaneously earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology/Criminal Justice.  Following his six year tour of duty in the Navy, he applied and was accepted at the University of Florida, Levin College of Law.  While a student in law school, Jason worked as a law clerk for a Gainesville construction litigation law firm for the first two years.  During his last year at law school, he completed an internship at the Marion County State Attorney’s Office in Ocala during the week and clerked for a Tampa insurance defense law firm on weekends.    

On a personal note, Jason has been married to his high-school sweetheart, Holly, for nearly 30 years. Together they have two children.

Professional History

Jason Mulholland began his career as an attorney representing major insurance companies investigating and defending claims involving suspected fraud or arson.  Inherent in this type of first-party insurance work was recognizing and avoiding bad faith claim-handling practices.  After leaving the defense, Jason joined one of Florida's premier third-party and UM insurance bad faith law firms and began handling catastrophic injury cases. Then, fulfilling a life-long dream, he established his own law firm, and has dedicated his practice to representing only policyholders and injured plaintiffs. Jason is truly passionate about the law, and how it serves to level the playing field between everyday citizens and the biggest corporations, protecting people from those who put profits above all else.

Commitment to Clients

Mr. Mulholland believes his role as an advocate is about more than fighting for one client or one case.  He has been actively involved with the Florida Justice Association (“FJA”) and the Tampa Bay Trial Lawyers Association (“TBTLA”); groups devoted to preserving the rights of Floridians to have their day in court.  Jason has served on the Board of Directors for the FJA, as well as numerous insurance and legislative committees.  He has testified before Legislative Committees on insurance matters, explaining how the language of the bills being considered will impact real-world situations.  He is currently Co-Chair of the FJA Property Insurance Committee.  Locally, Jason has served on the TBTLA Board of Directors since 2005 and as TBTLA President from 2012-2013.    To assist these groups in their mission, Jason is a contributor and fundraiser for the Endowment for Academy Giving to Legal Education and the Florida Lawyers Action Group.  He was recently appointed to the FJA Political Action Committee.  He has also championed protection for Florida’s small business owners through his involvement with the Taxpayers Against Insurance Bad Faith. Through his work in these organizations, Jason has been a force in local and statewide efforts to protect against special-interests who constantly lobby to deprive Floridians of constitutional guarantees and gain immunity for their own wrongdoing.
